Browns slow start means tough odds for making playoffs: Crowquill

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns (1-3) are off to a slow start and can't afford too many more losses if they are to make the playoffs again this year. History has not been kind to teams that start 1-3 as far as making the playoffs.

Next up on the schedule is the Washington Commanders (3-1). The Commanders are in first place in the NFC East where the Browns have already lost to the Dallas Cowboys (2-2) and the N.Y. Giants (1-3).

Unlike the Browns, the Commanders are off to a fast start, led by rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, last year's Heisman Trophy winner from LSU. Daniels is not playing like a rookie as he is completing 82% of his passes.

Cleveland can afford to lose maybe seven games and still make the playoffs, which means they can only lose four more games. That would mean the Browns must find a way to go 9-4 versus the toughest part of their schedule.
