Buc-ee’s is coming to the Lowcountry
HARDEEVILLE, S.C. (WSAV) – The City of Hardeeville announced on Friday that it will soon open its first Buc-ee's travel center.
Representatives of the chain will work with the City and its development processes on the project, currently at its beginning stages of development. Its progression and conclusion will coincide with the South Carolina Department of Transportation's I-95 Widening and Exit 8 Redevelopment Project.
The city sees the business as a driving economic opportunity in the Lowcountry, with an expected 200 new jobs, ranging from entry-level positions to managerial roles, providing a boost to the local market and offering stable and competitive wages. The city also feels that the store will contribute to the city's financial health through increased sales and property tax revenues.
"The arrival of Buc-ee's in Hardeeville is a testament to our city's potential as a key destination in the region," says City Manager Joshua Gruber. "This project not only highlights Hardeeville's strategic importance along the I-95 corridor but also underscores our commitment to fostering an environment that attracts and supports business growth. We are excited about the opportunities Buc-ee's will bring to our community, from job creation to increased tourism, and we look forward to the positive ripple effects this will have on local businesses and residents alike."
The Hardeeville location will feature Buc-ee's signature offerings, including an extensive selection of snacks, freshly prepared food, beverages, and a vast array of regionally-themed merchandise and gifts.
There is not yet an estimated date of an opening for the future location.
