Butler County K-9 finds 40 grams of drugs during traffic stop

HAMILTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — A traffic stop led to a drug bust and an arrest this week.

A Butler County deputy and his K-9 partner Kilo were called out to do an open air sniff at a traffic stop. An officer with the Hamilton Police Department initiated the traffic stop on a car with a male driver and a female passenger.

The open air sniff indicated the presence of drugs, leading officials to search the car. Police found 27.5 grams of methamphetamine on the female passenger, and 11 grams of crack and 1.2 grams of fentanyl on the male driver.

Both individuals were arrested and charged with felony possession. Numerous items of paraphernalia were also recovered.

K-9 Kilo has previously assisted with several other drug busts. In late October, Kilo found over 25 grams of methamphetamine in Liberty Township.
