Byron-Bergen’s Mia Gray is our Player of the Week

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Byron-Bergen forward Mia Gray led the Bees girls soccer team to their first state championship in program history on Sunday. Her prolific tournament run makes her our Player of the Week.

In the Class C state title game against Stillwater , the two talented teams were tied 0-0 after regulation. In the first minute of overtime, Gray ran down a through ball from Libby Starowitz then calmly shot in the game-winning goal.

The University of Florida commit had two goals and an assist in her team's state 4-0 state semifinal win on Saturday. She also had the overtime winner in the Far West Regionals against Frewsburg.

Mia Gray led Section V this year with 40 goals and 105 points. She also tallied 25 assists. And she'll be back for more next season as she is just a junior.

Gray has her state champion medal, now she adds our Player of the Week award to her trophy case.
