CAA Names Matthew Schuyler as Chief People Officer

CAA has tapped Matthew Schuyler as its chief people officer.

Schuyler will oversee the major entertainment and sports agency's human resources and talent management and development strategies across around 20 offices and 3,700 employees worldwide.

He comes to CAA having lead global human resources teams at Hilton Worldwide, Capital One, Cisco, and PwC.

"Matt's tremendous experience managing global HR functions at industry-leading companies speaks to his deep understanding of what makes organizations excel, including a motivated, high-performing workforce rooted in a culture that fosters career-long growth and opportunity," CAA president Jim Burtson said of the hire in a statement on Thursday.

Burtson added, "His significant business acumen, combined with his experience scaling teams, leveraging technology, and driving operational excellence at widely-admired service businesses aligns with CAA's own clear mission to deliver world-class service to world-class clients."

Schuyler comes to the "Big Three" Hollywood agency (alongside WME and UTA) after in 2023 a majority stake in CAA was sold to Artémis, the investment firm controlled by François-Henri Pinault, the CEO of fashion firm Kering and the billionaire scion of a French luxury goods fortune.

He also arrives at CAA after the entertainment industry's talent representation business continues to be reshaped by the aftermath of the Hollywood writers' and actors' strikes.

He completed an undergraduate degree at Penn State University, where he now serves as chairman of its board of trustees, and received his MBA in organizational behavior and human resources management from the University of Michigan.
