(Shutterstock)CALABASAS, CA — A Calabasas man accused of running a same-day delivery drug trafficking operation and three of his associates were ordered held without bail this week as part of a federal case reportedly connected to the fentanyl-overdose death of a teenage TikTok star.
Erick Oved Estrada, 35, — a.k.a. “Franco Sanchez” and “Eric Freddy Hook" — is accused of running the drug delivery business out of his Calabasas home. He and three others pleaded not guilty Tuesday in an 18-count indictment, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office:
Arian Alani, 34, of Burbank is accused of distributing fentanyl-laced pills to the victim — identified in the indictment as C.N. — who died of a fatal overdose in June 2022. The father of TikTok star Cooper Noriega confirmed that C.N. refers to his late 19-year-old son , TMZ reported.
Zoila Michelle Estrada, 36, of Calabasas, is Estrada's wife; she's accused of laundering the sale proceeds with her husband and using the money for expenses including a Lamborghini and a Land Rover, according to prosecutors.
Gilberto Marquez, 34, is accused as being a lieutenant in the operation.
Authorities are continuing to search for Tomas Marquez-Ruiz, 37, — a.k.a. "El Cafecito" — of Chatsworth, accused of being another lieutenant in the operation and Caseya Chanel Brown, 39 — a.k.a. “Mom" — of Woodland Hills, accused of working as a delivery driver for the operation, according to prosecutors.
Prosecutors accused Estrada of selling 25 pills to Alani, who sold some of the pills to C.N., who died of an overdose after taking them, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Noriega was found dead in a Burbank mall parking lot in June 2022.
His death came hours after he made a post to his then-1.7 million followers about how he believed he would die young. Noriega's account his grown in popularity since his death; it now has 3.1 million followers.
Alani confronted Estrada via text message two days after Noriega's death, writing “my boy just died yesterday” and that Estrada "shouldn't be selling [expletive] with fentanyl," according to prosecutors.
Erick Estrada, Marquez-Ruiz, Marquez, and Brown are charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances resulting in death and one count of distribution of cocaine.
Erick Estrada also is charged with two additional counts of distribution of cocaine, one count of distribution of fentanyl resulting in death, and 11 counts of money laundering.
Alani is charged with one count of distribution of fentanyl resulting in death.
Zoila Estrada is charged with one count of money laundering.
If convicted of all charges, Erick Estrada, Marquez-Ruiz, Marquez, Brown, and Alani would face a mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years in federal prison and a statutory maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
If convicted, Zoila Estrada would face up to 10 years in federal prison.
