Cape Coral family welcomes community into their home for Thanksgiving
CAPE CORAL, Fla. – A Cape Coral family opened the doors of their home this Thanksgiving to provide a meal and company to anyone alone this holiday.
“A lot of people are saying what wonderful people we are and that’s not the case, I just want to be a good neighbor,“ said Williams.
Williams said his wife Jennifer, daughter Charlotte, and son Nick all were working to providing enough food to feed 40 to 50 people in their home.
“I wasn’t expecting so many people that are hungry or lonely or or by themselves,” said Williams, “just because you’re by yourself doesn’t mean you’re lonely, but so many people are eating by themselves or just not eating at all in there by themselves.”
The Williams said the family has been preparing the meals since Wednesday with the goal of feeding everyone that stops by their home.
“We’re just trying to help a family who is lonely can’t afford Thanksgiving,” said Jennifer, “it’s a good feeling helping someone that otherwise would not have had something.”
The Williams opened their door at 4 p.m.
