Car crash kills skateboarder in West Sacramento

(FOX40.COM) — A person who was riding a skateboard is dead after a car crash, according to the West Sacramento Police Department.

Around 7:03 p.m. Tuesday, WSPD and emergency services responded to Tower Bridge Gateway and 5th Street for a skateboarder who was hit by a car. Police said the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene of the crash and is cooperating with the investigation, according to WSPD. Surrounding roads are expected to be partially closed for several hours.
