Carol Brozovsky, 91, of York, Nebraska, died Friday, September 27, 2024 in York.

Martha Carol Doan was born on Thanksgiving, November 24, 1932 to James Elmer and Millie Bay (Hattel) Doan of rural Gresham, NE. She was educated at Palo country school, Gresham High School, Concordia Teachers College-Seward and University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Gresham. Carol taught country school until her marriage to Clayton Norquest of rural McCool Junction on June 8, 1952. She became a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church of McCool Junction where she was an organist for 50 years, taught Sunday school, Bible school and Catechism classes, directed the choir, was a member of Lutheran Church Women and served on the Church Council. Following Clayton's death in 1980 she married Lester Brozovsky on November 3, 1983 and helped him establish C & B Game Farm. Les passed away in 1995. Carol formed a chapter of the Red Hat Society. She owned and operated Carol's K-9 Clippers for 10 years and after retirement continued to groom dogs for several years as a volunteer at Adopt-a-Pet in York. She loved animals and enjoyed the companionship of several pets throughout her life.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law James & Pamela Norquest of McCool Junction, daughter Brenda Norquest of Lincoln, Shelly Hamling (sister of Pamela), many nieces and nephews and their families, step-son David Brozovsky and members of the Brozovsky family, step-grandchildren in the Preslicka family, and companion Jim McGowan and his children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and sister Frances Doan; sisters and brothers-in-law Mabel & George Gulbrandson and Janet & Charles Kaliff; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Alfred & Olga Brozovsky, Ervin & Adeline Brozovsky and Wayne & Norma Brozovsky.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in McCool Jct with PMA Jim Germer officiating. Burial will be in York's Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-8:00 pm Wednesday with her family greeting friends from 6-7:30 that same evening at the mortuary in York. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church of McCool Junction or to Adopt-A-Pet of York. Online condolences may be sent to her family at metzmortuary.com
