Carrie Bickmore has revealed major family news on social media.

The radio and TV star, 43, took to Instagram on Monday to reveal her son Oliver had turned 17 - and was on his way to becoming a licensed pilot.

The mother-of-two posted a slideshow of images of 'Ollie' in the cockpit, as well as two versions of a cake Carrie had baked herself that depicted the plane he trained in.

In the caption she joked that her baking 'sucked,' before sharing her improved second attempt of a model plane atop a baked cake globe.

One of the first comments on the post came from Carrie's radio co-host and rumoured lover Tommy Little .

'Where is the cake though?! All I can see is a real world and a huge plane,' quipped the comedian, 39, who is also a licensed pilot.

Fans were left stunned by Oliver's news, with one writing, 'OMG amazing!'

'How exciting, my brother is 56 got his license at 16 and has never looked back,' wrote another.

Oliver is the son Carrie had with her late first husband, Greg Lange.

She went on to have a daughter, Adelaide, with partner Chris Walker in 2015, before the couple separated in 2023.

Last year, Carrie and Tommy hosted their HIT FM radio show from Paris, France , which had fans convinced they are romantically involved.

Carrie split from her partner of eleven years at the start of last year, while Tommy had been reportedly single after his split from girlfriend Natalie Kyriacou in 2021.

Carrie announced their split in an Instagram post in January 2022, saying the pair was focused on co-parenting their three children, Ollie, 16, Evie, eight, and Adelaide, five.

'It's with immense sadness that Chris and I have decided to separate,' she wrote.

'While this is a tough time, our focus is on parenting, loving and supporting our three children Ollie, Evie and Addie with everything that we've got.

'They are doing great. We won't be making any further comment.'

Tommy rushed to Carrie's side at the time she confirmed her breakup, leading insiders to speculate their friendship could evolve into something more.

It's been a big year for the radio power couple, with their Hit Network drive show recently hitting number one in the August ratings.

Hitting the number one spot last month makes it the pair's fourth consecutive win in the ratings - the best result the Hit Network has received for its Drive slot since 2018.

Carrie and Tommy currently boast an 11.1 per cent share of the market across Australia, with an 11.7 per cent share in Melbourne and 17 per cent share in Brisbane.

The duo have also been nominated for two Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs).

The nominations they received include 'Best On Air Team' and 'Best Comedy Segment' and the results will be announced in October.
