Carson Hocevar Goes After Tony Stewart’s Mentee With an Expletive F-Bomb Rant

I.Mitchell2 hr ago
"If I was nervous about crashing or spinning, I don't belong to be out there," Carson Hocevar proudly declared last year. Unfortunately, an incident countering this claim has already arisen. The prodigal Cup Series rookie, who has already paved a glittering path, was on a good track in Kansas. He ran with the race leaders in the final laps until an unfortunate mishap took him out.

In line with his well-known aggressive nature, Hocevar displayed an outburst. His expletives were directed at Tony Stewart's star mentee. The latter was involved in another driver's wreck as well, but little evidence shows his involvement in Hocevar's misfortune.

Carson Hocevar shoots razor-sharp accusation Chase Briscoe, as we all know, made some jaws drop this year. Until the end of August, he carried six top-ten and two top-five finishes, despite a long streak of lackluster runs. However, Tony Stewart's best-performing mentee shocked people by winning at Darlington, shuffling the playoff grid enormously. He overpowered Kyle Busch to win the race and hurt Busch's chances. Carson Hocevar was also affected—despite starting 2nd that day, an unforeseen spin ended his day and playoff hopes.

So the Spire Motorsports rookie was exceptionally angry when Briscoe apparently ruined his run at Kansas yet again. Qualifying 14th, Carson Hocevar carved his path into the top ten by stage 1. After a 6th-place showing in stage 2, he slowly crept up to the front in the final stage. He even took the lead on lap 172, looking poised for a spectacular finish. But soon after Kyle Busch wrecked while racing Chase Briscoe on lap 235, Hocevar's turn came. He hurled a volley of abuses at Briscoe after spinning on lap 242, as reported by Matt Weaver: "I didn't hit anything. Just Chase Briscoe f-king sucks. He did the same thing to the 8."

Kyle Busch was in a heated battle with Ross Chastain prior to his misfortune, often exchanging the race lead. But then he was pinched into the wall coming out of turn 2 alongside Briscoe, who was fighting to stay on the lead lap. This contact caused Busch to drop to 7th before the pit stops. Although this incident could be partly attributed to Chase Briscoe , Hocevar's situation seems unlikely. Carson Hocevar appeared to get loose coming out of turn 2, connected with Todd Gilliland and spun down the backstretch. Maybe the 17-20 degrees of banking at Kansas Speedway got him?

Regardless, Carson Hocevar is still on a hot streak this season. Despite being a Cup Series rookie, he has turned heads with his performances.

Hocevar is progressing by leaps and bounds This time last year, Carson Hocevar was battling for the Craftsman Truck Series championship. Although his aggressive moves with Corey Heim relegated both out of contention for the title, Hocevar advanced ahead. Landing a Cup ride wasn't enough for him—he already has five top-ten finishes in the Cup Series. Despite his penchant for getting on the nerves of rivals like Harrison Burton , Hocevar has outperformed his teammates in Spire. Ross Chastain aptly declared last year: "Putting together Cup races, you only know if you can do that when you get here. I think it's happening a little quicker for him than most."

Indeed, Carson Hocevar clinched his first-ever top-five finish in the Cup Series at Watkins Glen. He could have easily turned that into a rookie win, as he explained post-race. "I just needed some more confidence into turn one. I did everything right, all the way until turn one, and then I just lifted a little too early. When I lost leverage, it was just game over from there, but I had a really good shot for the win. We were last in practice with a bunch of issues. I'm just super thankful that we were able to turn the weekend around for the No. 77 Mattress Warehouse Chevy team."

So Chase Briscoe apparently ruining his chances for a potential Kansas win clearly upset Hocevar. Let's see if Hocevar can quench his thirst in the upcoming races.
