CeeDee Lamb injury update: Mike McCarthy addresses Cowboys WR's practice status this week
With several injuries already for the Dallas Cowboys, Mike McCarthy had the latest on an issue with CeeDee Lamb .
McCarthy spoke about Lamb's status over this week while on 105.3 The FAN on Friday. He said Dallas' leading receiver is handling the pain of his shoulder injury with it limiting him over this week in practice. Still, that also hasn't taken too much out of him based on how he did compete on Thursday.
"He looks good. But (managing the pain) is definitely something he's gonna have to deal with," McCarthy said.
Despite the AC joint sprain, Lamb looks to be on track to play in their next game in a divisional matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
Lamb suffered the injury in the Cowboys' latest loss last weekend in Atlanta. That game also had an injury to Dak Prescott with Dallas' quarterback now on injured reserve with a hamstring injury that could linger longer than just the next four games.
Those are just the latest issues for Dallas after other names like Micah Parsons , DeMarcus Lawrence , and Brandin Cooks have been on injured reserve or the injury report.
Lamb would be another significant loss if he wasn't able to stay healthy. He's the top target in the Cowboys' passing game by far with 53 catches on 84 targets for 660 yards, good for 82.5 per game, and four touchdowns. All of those lead Dallas by far while also being top-five in the NFL in receptions, targets, receiving yardage, and receiving yardage per game.
Those stats could be dropping off a bit, though, with the insertion of Cooper Rush at quarterback.
Lamb has been as reliable as any Cowboy with what he does at receiver. Even so, if he is available this weekend, he will be so while managing that shoulder as needed.
