BELTON, Texas — The 4th of July means many things to Americans, fireworks, independence, hot dogs and more, but to many Central Texans, the 4th of July means Belton's annual 4th of July Parade .

Every Independence Day, Central Texans young and old gather in Belton to watch the famous parade work its way through downtown.

According to the Belton Chamber of Commerce , an estimated 30,000+ people line the streets to watch as the 100-year tradition travels along from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor to the Bell County Courthouse to the Belton Police Memorial.

Beginning with a "Patriotic Program" at 8 a.m., the theme of this year's parade was "100 years of the Rodeo", celebrating the annual PRCA Rodeo in Belton, which also kicks off on July 4 and runs through July 6.
