  • The renaming honors Crossland employees like Paul Coons, who graduated from PSU and has worked for Crossland for more than 40 years.

"PSU is a great pipeline for us and for me. I've seen a lot of kids over the years come in as we work in the field, build field engineers so they become project manager superintendents, division managers, whatever. Pitt State is a big part of our pipeline for talent and people," said Paul Coons, Crossland Construction Company General Superintendent.

"Today's historic for the university and our Crossland partners. I think the last time we had a naming of a college was nearly 50 years ago. So, I think it's important for folks to note how this doesn't happen every day. And it doesn't happen unless you really have that interconnected partnership," said Dr. Dan Shipp, Pittsburg State University President.

Pittsburg Mayor Stu Hite also recognized today as Crossland Legacy Day for the company's investment in not only the university, but also the city.
