CFP rankings: Alabama moves up in latest top 25 via College Football Playoff

The latest CFP rankings have dropped, and Alabama football found out where it was ranked after its big win over LSU. The Crimson Tide is now ranked No. 10 in the latest top 25 from the CFP committee, announced Tuesday night. A week ago in the first rankings of the season, Alabama received the No. 11 ranking. In this projection, Alabama would face Indiana in the first round of the playoff in Bloomington The Crimson Tide has four ranked wins over No. 12 Georgia, No. 21 South Carolina, No. 22 LSU, No. 23 Missouri. The AP poll and the coaches poll both moved the Crimson Tide up to No. 9 from No. 11. Alabama is fresh off a victory over LSU in which it dismantled the Tigers 42-13 on the road. Quarterback Jalen Milroe ran for four touchdowns to lead a dominant effort by the Crimson Tide. Meanwhile, the defense gave up only one touchdown, which came when the game was over in the final minute of the game. Combined with the Missouri game previously, Alabama has allowed only one touchdown the past two games . Next up, the Crimson Tide turns its attention to Mercer on Saturday (1 p.m., SEC Network+/ESPN+) at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
