Chamber to hold State of Education forum

Oct. 4—The Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce is now registering for its State of Education forum, scheduled for 7:30 a.m., Nov. 5, at First Baptist Church.

Local educational leaders will provide insights into the state of education in Morgan County. Panelists will feature superintendents from Decatur, Hartselle and Morgan County school systems and the presidents of Calhoun Community College and Athens State University.

Houston Blackwood, workforce director at the Alabama Community College System's Innovation Center, will be a guest participant.

Scott Mayo, executive director of the Cook Museum of Natural Science, will serve as the moderator.

Registration for the breakfast is $30 for chamber members and $50 for guests. Registration deadline is Oct. 29.
