Chanel Maya Banks Reportedly Found After Going Missing

S.Wright4 hr ago
Actress Chanel Maya Banks has reportedly been located after her family claimed that she was missing.

Banks, 36, was found safe in Los Angeles, according to TMZ . The outlet cited local law enforcement sources, who said Banks does not have any injuries and foul play is not suspected.

Banks' mother and cousin had filed a missing person's report earlier this month after asking local police to perform a welfare check.

"Five days without hearing from my cousin is red flags and alarm bells," Banks' cousin Danielle-Tori Singh told Eyewitness News on Wednesday, November 13. "She doesn't go more than 48 hours without speaking to me or her mom. That girl is more like a big sister to me."

Singh flew to Los Angeles to help search for her cousin. She alleged to Eyewitness News that Banks' husband of one year, who has not been publicly identified, refused to cooperate.

"He's not willing to help LAPD," Singh claimed. "He's not willing to help me or her mom find her. He is removing flyers off of posts and cars."

Singh also launched a GoFundMe campaign to aid their search.

"Hi, my name is Danielle and my cousin Chanel is missing. She lives in the Playa Vista area in Los Angeles, California. Our last contact with her was October 30, 2024," a description read. "Two welfare checks were performed on November 7, and another two welfare checks on November 8. She was not in her apartment. Chanel is an official missing person in California."

According to Singh, all of the actress' belongings were still at her house as of Sunday, November 10.

"The only items we did not locate are her phone and laptop. She also does not go anywhere without her little dog, which also has been left behind," the GoFundMe read. "She also does not have her vehicle because it's parked in her garage. She would NEVER go anywhere without telling her mom or myself. We noticed on November 10 that her husband has a busted lip and marks and scratches on his neck and arms. Police were called on November 10 and they took pictures of his injuries, which he did not have two days ago when police did the last welfare check."

Banks' husband allegedly told Singh that his wife "does not want to be found" and "will reach out when she's ready."

"He claims he does not know where she is, he says he hasn't seen or heard from her since November 7, but never called police to say she's gone," the GoFundMe message added. "I'm creating this GoFundMe because we need to hire a private investigator. LAPD have told us because there's no signs of foul play, and her husband has not committed any crime by withholding information, there's nothing they can do until they have evidence or probable cause to arrest him."
