Chardon football vs. Bishop Watterson: Eagles blow out Hilltoppers in Division III clash

CLEVELAND, Ohio - In a matchup of the Associated Press's top two ranked Division III teams, Bishop Watterson defeated Chardon, 41-9, on Friday at Chardon Memorial Field.

Top-ranked Watterson took control in the first quarter with two big plays. Jake Uhlenhake returned the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown, and on the Eagles' second possession he caught a 75-yard touchdown pass. Uhlenhake added an 8-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter.

Watterson quarterback Drew Bellisari threw four touchdowns passes. Dominic Theado caught scoring receptions of 21 and 11 yards.

In the third quarter, Watterson's Jack McCoy had a 66-yard run that set up his 1-yard touchdown run.

Chardon's Drayton Allgood rushed for a 24-yard touchdown on the Hilltoppers' opening drive. Chad Prince had an interception in the second quarter.

In the final minute of the third quarter, Chardon's Beckett Dotson blocked a punt that turned into a safety.

Chardon (3-1, ranked 13th in the cleveland.com Top 25) will travel to take on Kenston on Sept. 27.
