DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - An early morning rain and a hot sunny afternoon may not sound like your normal fall day but that didn't stop the Chester Bowl Fall Fest from being held.

The annual festival features about 140 vendors that provide everything from art, flowers, food, clothes, and more.

In the one-day event, organizers estimate more than 10,000 people made their way into Chester Park.

"This is really our celebration of the change of seasons," said Chester Bowl Program and Operations Director Sam Luoma. "It's a gathering of all the creative people in Duluth and our region. A lot, a lot of wonderful artists, jewelry makers, craft makers."

According to organizers, planning for the event begins in February and takes the help of about 100 volunteers from start to finish.

The event was free but Chester Bowl did accept donations to help support the Chester Ski Program which is why Duluth resident Mark Swann keeps coming back.

"I think it's really important to support Chester with how small it is," said Swann. "It's truly community run, ran by the community. All the volunteers so I think it's important to get out here and really showcase what Chester is all about."

The event allows organizers to remind everyone that winter registration is now open.
