Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings: Third quarter recap and fourth quarter discussion
D.Adams3 months ago
That’s right, everybody. . .time to get those four fingers up above your heads! We’re heading to the fourth quarter of Monday Night Football at U.S. Bank Stadium with your Minnesota Vikings trailing the Chicago Bears by a score of 6-3. The Vikings got the ball to start the half, and got things going with Alexander Mattison’s longest run of the season, a 21-yarder to get the Vikings close to midfield. Of course, Josh Dobbs was sacked on the next play and that eventually led to a 4th-and-7. Kevin O’Connell kept the offense on the field and Dobbs found T.J. Hockenson near the right sideline but the ball was ruled just short of the line to gain for a turnover on downs. Chicago quickly moved into Minnesota territory on the strength of their run game, with Roschon Johnson and Justin Fields moving the ball down the field. The Vikings’ defense eventually stiffened up and forced a 39-yard field goal attempt from Cairo Santos, which split the uprights to put the Bears back on top, 6-3. The Vikings found themselves facing a fourth down on the next possession as well, this one a 4th-and-3 at the Chicago 44. And it ended with Dobbs’ third interception of the night, as it went off of K.J. Osborn and into the hands of Tremaine Edmunds for another turnover. As we move to the fourth quarter of play, the Bears are looking at a 2nd-and-6 from the Minnesota 35-yard line. It’s been an awful football game, but the Vikings are still only down by three points, 6-3. Can they get it together and pull this one off? Come watch the final quarter of this one with us and find out!
