Downriver fans of fast-food Chick-fil-A will be able to visit its newest Michigan location on Thursday.

A Taylor location at 22250 Eureka Rd. in Taylor is set to open its doors at 6:30 a.m. and will be the third location downriver.

Other locations are in Allen Park and Woodhaven.

The location on the outer perimeter of Southland Mall will be open for dine-in, drive-thru, and carry-out from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Chick-fil-A locations are noted for being closed on Sundays.

This Taylor location, on a busy stretch of Eureka Road, is about 5,000 square feet with seating for 60 indoors plus 18 seats on its outdoor patio.

Chick-fil-A is known for its signature fried or grilled chicken sandwiches with a pickle and special sauce, waffle fries, and a menu of salads, sides, and breakfast items.

On Thursday, the Taylor location also will feature two of Chick-fil-A's seasonal items: The Honey Pepper Pimento chicken sandwich and the Banana Pudding milkshake. Its Honey Pepper Pimento chicken sandwich features pimento cheese, mild pickled jalapeños, a drizzle of honey on a toasted bun. Both are while supplies last.

Taylor's Chick-fil-A's owner/operator is Anthony Sautter, a downriver native.

Sautter started with Chick-fil-A in 2018 at Toledo, Ohio store.

When the Taylor location opens on Thursday, Sautter will honor "100 local heroes" who are making an impact in metro Detroit with free Chick-fil-A entrees for a year.

"Our goal is to be a place in the community where everyone is welcome, and for me, it's special because of my hometown roots," Sautter said. "This being centralized downriver and me being from Allen Park and now Trenton."

As with other new openings, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has partnered with Feeding America, donating $25,000 to Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan and Forgotten Harvest, to support hunger relief.Like other Chick-fil-A restaurants, the new Taylor location will also support the company's Shared Table program which donates surplus food to area soup kitchens, shelters, food banks, and nonprofits in need.

Chick-fil-A in Taylor employs about 100 full- and part-time staffers. More than 1,000 people applied for positions at the Taylor location, according to Chick-fil-A.

More recently, Chick-fil-A announced a significant investment and expansion of its Michigan footprint. The fast-food giant expects to add more than two dozen locations in metro Detroit and statewide. Across these new Michigan locations, Chick-fil-A expects to create 2,500 jobs.

Chick-fil-A operates nearly 30 restaurants across the state and about a dozen in metro Detroit, from Woodhaven to Novi to Shelby Township.

A downtown Detroit location is scheduled to open and other expected openings this fall are in Chesterfield Township and Fort Gratiot.

Chick-fil-A, a cult-like favorite — and oft-criticized for its past donations to anti-LGBTQ+ causes — ranks as a popular fast-food chain with consumers. For the 10th year straight, the chain remained in the top spot for fast food on the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2024 report released last June. The family-owned Chick-fil-A was founded in 1967 by S. Truett Cathy and is headquartered in Atlanta. There are more than 3,000 Chick-fil-A locations across 48 states and in Canada and Puerto Rico, according to chick-fil-a.com.
