Chris Evans looks unrecognizable with dark beard and spectacles at premiere for new blockbuster

Chris Evans is one of the most recognizable heartthrobs in Hollywood.

But on Wednesday, the 43-year-old actor surprised fans with a new look as he stepped out rocking a dark shaggy beard and a pair of silver spectacles.

The Captain America star was busy promoting his latest action movie Red One , at Potters Fields Park in London, England.

But it was his dramatic transformation from the clean-cut, all-American hero to a more rugged, bearded man that truly captivated fans.

Evans also sported longer, slicked-back hair to complement his new facial hair.

He sported a black t-shirt with black jeans and a blue denim jacket.

The American actor completed his outfit with a pair of brown suede boots and accessorized with a gold chain.

He was joined by co-stars Lucy Liu, Dwayne Johnson and J.K. Simmons at the premiere.

Lucy, 55, wowed in a long red dress and wore her dark tresses cascading down her shoulders.

Meanwhile Dwayne, 52, rocked a burgundy sweater and black slacks.

J.K., 69, sported a dark red button-up tucked into black pants.

He kept warm in a bomber jacket and added a pop of festive red to the look with his sneakers.

Also in attendance was Mad Men star Kiernan Shipka, 24, who wowed in a white dress.

Meanwhile Bonnie Hunt, 63, opted for a laid-back look in a cream top, brown suede jacket and dark pants.

An IMDb synopsis of the film reads: 'After Santa Claus (code name: Red One) is kidnapped, the North Pole's Head of Security (Johnson) must team up with the world's most infamous bounty hunter (Evans) in a globe-trotting, action-packed mission to save Christmas.'

Evans portrays hacker and bounty hunter Jack O'Malley in the upcoming Christmas action-adventure comedy film by director Jake Kasdan, 49.

The trailer for the movie was released in September, and opened with Jack coming home and noticing subtle signs of danger before engaging in a superhero-style fight with attackers.

Jack at the end of the struggle came face-to-face with Zoe [Lucy] who knocked him out with a powerful electric device.

Zoe next informed Jack that 'Red One, also known as St. Nicholas' was abducted.

'What are you saying? Santa Claus has been kidnapped?,' Jack asked incredulously.

'You're the best tracker in the world. You're going to help us find him,' Zoe said.

Jack then informed Zoe that he works alone.

Johnson, who portrays Callum Drift, appeared and informed Jack that they would be working together.

'I'm not going to like you. I can tell right away out of everyone here I like you the least,' Jack told Callum

Callum then terrified Jack when he introduced him to their colleague, a giant talking polar bear.

Jack and Callum then set off to rescue Santa, played by Simmons, using supply closets at toy stores, which are secret portal stations for a North Pole transit system.

Callum also showed Jack his ability to transform toys into real-life objects, including a Hot Wheels sports car and toy fighting robots.

The trailer also showed Kiernan as scary character Gryla and Kristofer Hivju portraying Krampus.

The film additionally features Bonnie as Mrs. Claus, Mary Elizabeth Ellis as Olivia, Wesley Kimmel as Dylan and Nick Kroll as Ted.

Red One was originally scheduled to be released on Prime Video worldwide in time for Christmas 2023, but its release was delayed due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike.

Amazon MGM will distribute the film in US theaters with a scheduled release date of November 15.
