PEORIA, Ill (WMBD) — The CI Proud Concert Series returns with CodyRay. Cody Stum is a country music artist from East Peoria who wants to spread love with his music. he says that although his music career has been a short and fast ride, he is thankful for where he is today.
Cody Started writing music after losing his mother and sister to suicide, he says that writing country music was the only thing that kept his heart from breaking. Now he is using his music to promote suicide awareness with an event called Music Saves Lives.
The Music Saves Lives benefit is a fundraiser that will be held at Oz's Bar and Grill on September 29th, intending to raise money and awareness for suicide prevention. He says that music is a wonderful tool to help people with all aspects of mental illnesses.
