City of Lancaster expands bike-share program
CITY OF LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) — The City of Lancaster announced earlier today that it has expanded its bike share program.
According to the City of Lancaster, it has just expanded its 'Bike It Lancaster' bike share program, bringing new options for transportation to residents and visitors. As part of this new expansion, 25 new electric bikes have joined the fleet.
Additionally, the program will also extend its services to include Manheim Township and East Lampeter Township by adding three new e-bike stations.
"Expanding Bike It Lancaster into neighboring communities and introducing e-bikes aligns with our mission to offer active transportation options and improve mobility for all. We're excited to see this program grow and connect even more people to places in and around Lancaster," Mayor Danene Sorace said.
The Bike It Lancaster program was first launched back in 2017.
The program offers an annual membership which allows users to ride an e-bike for $1.50 for the first hour. Without a membership, e-bike rentals are $3 for 30 minutes.
