A new police chief will be sworn into office in the city of Port St. Lucie.
Leo Niemczyk, will be sworn in as chief on Wednesday at 9 a.m., the city of Port St. Lucie says.He replaces Chief Richard Del Toro who is gunning to become the next chief of the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office.

The city says Niemczyk has been with PSLPD for 22 years and has held numerous leadership roles. His ceremony will take place at the Port St. Lucie's City Hall, located at 121 SW Port St. Lucie Blvd.
