COATS FOR KIDS
The Back Mountain Police Association will conduct its annual Coats for Kids drive from noon to 3 p.m. today, Nov. 10 at the Shavertown shopping Center.
VETS DAY PROGRAM
Daddow-Isaacs Dallas American Legion Post 672 will conduct a ceremony commemorating Veterans Day at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11 at the at the Post Home. The Post Honor Guard will be present.
BINGO PLANNED
Bingo will be held on Monday, Nov. 18 at the Northmoreland Twp. Fire Hall In Centermoreland.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and early birds start at 6:30 p.m. Food and beverages will be available.
ROAST BEEF SUPPER
A roast beef supper will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at the Northmoreland Twp. Fire Hall in Centermoreland. Takeouts will be available.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12 years of age and may be purchased at the door.
Municipal and county officials, developers, home builders and interested citizens will have the opportunity to learn how communities across Pennsylvania are preserving their special open spaces, green ways and natural resources while achieving their development objectives.
Dallas Township, in conjunction with the North Branch Land Trust, will host a presentation entitled “Growing Greener- Conservation by Design” by Ann Hutchinson of the Natural Land Trust, Media, at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21 at Misericordia University’s Insalaco Hall.
The presentation will be an advertised public meeting so that our municipal officials may all attend.
ROUNDTABLE MEETS
The Wyoming Valley Civil War Roundtable will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21 in the lower level of the Daddow-Isaacs American Legion, 730 Memorial Highway, Dallas.
The speaker for the evening will be Rev. Dr. William Lewis of Dallas, who will present his program on “Who Was Lincoln?”

The Dallas Chapter Eastern Star Building Association will hold its 21st annual craft and holiday gift sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Dallas Chapter Eastern Star Building Association Eastern Star Hall, Foster Street and Woodlawn Avenue, Dallas.
Vendors are being sought and may rent an 8-foot table for $15. Eastern Star members will serve lunch, featuring homemade soups, whimpies, hot dogs, haluski and dessert and will sell their famous Welsh cookies.
CONTRA DANCE SET
A New England Contra dance featuring music by the Curt Osgood and Friends with Curt on hammered dulcimer along with calling by Ted Crane will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Church of Christ Uniting, 776 Market St., Kingston.
No partner or previous experience is necessary. Admission to the dance is “pay what you wish.” Come early at 6:00 p.m. for a pot-luck dinner.
