Class D-2 state volleyball: Leyton will look to finish undefeated season in state championship

LINCOLN — Leyton will seek to finish off its perfect season Saturday at the state volleyball tournament.
The Warriors advanced to the Class D-2 final with a 25-22, 26-24, 20-25, 25-19 win over Central Valley in a semifinal match Friday at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Leyton (35-0) will play for the title Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Devaney Center.
Leyton, going after its first championship, is making its eighth appearance at state and first since 2013.
The 28-7 Cougars will play in a third-place match Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lincoln North Star.
