Clean-up and recovery efforts progress in Princeton

PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) – Much of southern West Virginia and Virginia are still cleaning up from the hurricane.

In Princeton, there is still quite of debris around the city. Princeton City Park is currently closed due to multiple trees downed in the park.

Best tools and supplies to have on hand for a power outage

Herald Goins, a Princeton resident said his power has been out due to a tree that fell from his next-door neighbor's property. The tree is now obstructing the road and the power line is leaning dangerously by the road.

"The storm hit here the day before yesterday and I was looking out my window at the tree as it fell. I was praying that it would not hit my house or my building and it missed every one of them," said Goins.

"We still have a lot to do, still a lot in the alleys and some...a lot of Main Street's a lot of brush cleanup still yet to do," said Chris Nash, a Street Department Employee of Princeton Public Works.

Nash said it will take time to fully clean up all the damage this storm has caused.
