Coke Dealer Nabbed On Halloween Facing Felonies: DA Drug Task Force A monthslong investigation came to a head when a notorious drug dealer was taken into custody as trick-or-treaters donned their costumes.POUGHKEESIE, NY — Police made plans to make Halloween memorable for a drug dealer nabbed as part of a monthslong investigation, according to officials.
The Dutchess County District Attorney's Office Drug Task Force says that an investigation started in late July related to the sale of cocaine in the Town and City of Poughkeepsie.
Drug Task Force agents identified 32-year-old Shyquan J. Collins, of Poughkeepsie, as a narcotic and dangerous drug dealer operating in various locations within the Town and City of Poughkeepsie. Agents conducted several narcotic transactions with Collins in both jurisdictions.
On October 31, shortly after 9 a.m., agents found Collins and charged him with felony third degree count of criminal sale of a controlled substance (City of Poughkeepsie) and felony third degree count of criminal sale of a controlled substance (Town of Poughkeepsie.)
Collins was being held at the Dutchess County Justice and Transitions Center pending his arraignment on both charges in both jurisdictions.
The Drug Task Force warns the community that fentanyl is often mixed with cocaine which has led to hundreds of overdose deaths in Dutchess County over the past several years.
