Cold front to roll through Piedmont Triad
(WGHP) — Cloudy skies with a good chance of rain on Thursday.
Mostly cloudy Wednesday with morning temperatures around 60 degrees and highs in the middle 70s. Wednesday will carry a small chance for a few showers.
On Thursday, our winds will come off of the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. The wind flow will increase our chances for rain. Look for a 50% chance of rain with highs in the middle 70s.
Friday, a cold front will bring in drier air and slightly cooler temperatures. Under mostly cloudy skies, our highs will be in the lower 70s. Chance of rain 25%.
Mostly cloudy and cooler on Saturday with highs in the upper 60s. Chance of rain 25%.
In the Caribbean Sea, Tropical Storm Rafael could strengthen into Hurricane Rafael on Wednesday. After a possible landfall across Cuba, the system will move into the Gulf of Mexico with a possible landfall around Louisiana and Mississippi on Sunday. Some of this moisture could sneak into the Piedmont. For now, look for scattered showers on Sunday with highs in the upper 60s. Chance of rain 40%.
The Piedmont will see lower rain chances on Monday with highs in the lower 70s. Chance of rain 30%.
Tuesday, partly cloudy with lows in the lower 50s and highs in the lower 70s.
