Cold snap sees parts of the East wake up to snow

S.Chen32 min ago
Parts of the East of England have woken to snow as the first winter cold snap has taken hold.

Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire have seen the heaviest snow - particularly over higher ground - while snow has also settled in Norfolk and Essex.

The conditions have so far seen Grendon Underwood Combined School in Buckinghamshire closed "due to weather conditions".

Motorists and commuters are being warned of possible disruption due to snow and ice.

Greater Anglia trains have been delayed between Kennett and Cambridge due to signalling problems.

Services can still run - but the operator said they would be disrupted.
