Colerain man arrested for murder at Merry Hill Dollar General
BERTIE COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) — Bertie County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) has taken a 59-year-old Colerain man into custody for the Aug. 31 murder at a Merry Hill Dollar General.

On Saturday, Aug. 31, deputies with the BCSO were dispatched to the Dollar General following a report of shots being fired around the side of the building.
While in route to the scene, deputies were alerted that a man was lying near a vehicle where the shots were fired.
Upon arrival, they located 60-year-old William Thomas Johnson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Robert D. Wilson was charged with First Degree Murder and Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon.
Wilson was confined into the Bertie/Martin Regional Jail under no bond.
