College football championship game odds, schedule: Oregon favored by more than a touchdown against Washington
There’s one week of college football left before the College Football Playoff field is set and the odds for all 10 conference championship games are out. Oregon is favored by more than a touchdown against Washington in the Pac-12 Championship Game despite losing to the Huskies in the regular season. Georgia is nearly a touchdown-favorite against Alabama in the SEC Championship Game.
The Ducks lost 36-33 in Seattle in Week 7 after missing a last-second field goal that would have sent the game to overtime. Oregon outgained Washington by 126 yards and won the turnover battle but still came up short. That performance, coupled with Washington playing four one-score games since and this one being played on a neutral field instead of at Washington, is why Oregon is such a big favorite.
Undefeated Georgia is looking to win its second straight SEC title. The Bulldogs’ last loss was in the 2021 SEC title game to Alabama when Georgia was also a significant favorite. After Alabama pulled off a miraculous win at Auburn to improve to 11-1, both teams are in the CFP race. Will an Alabama win be enough to get the Crimson Tide in the Playoff or will they need some help?
In the Big 12, Texas is favored by two touchdowns against Oklahoma State , but the Longhorns aren’t the week’s biggest favorite. That honor goes to Michigan, which is favored by more than three touchdowns against Iowa in the Big Ten title game.
Florida State is favored by less than a field goal against Louisville . The Seminoles struggled at Florida, which finished 5-7, with starting quarterback Jordan Travis out injured. FSU trailed 12-0, but locked down defensively and won 24-15 against a Florida team also playing its backup quarterback due to injury. Louisville is coming off a loss against Kentucky , which knocked the Cardinals out of the CFP race.
In the Group of 5, undefeated Liberty is favored by double-digits against New Mexico State in Conference USA. Toledo , Boise State , Tulane and Troy are the other favorites this week. A Tulane win would almost certainly send the Green Wave to a New Year’s Six bowl for the second straight year.
