The College Football Playoff selection committee confirmed it: This weekend’s Michigan-Ohio State showdown will pit the No. 2 and No. 3 teams in America.

The revised CFP rankings were unveiled Tuesday night, with the Buckeyes holding firm at No. 2 and the Wolverines at No. 3 ahead of Saturday’s game in Ann Arbor (Noon, FOX). Georgia remains the No. 1 team after leapfrogging Ohio State last week.

Both teams were ranked in the same spots in this week’s AP Top 25 and US LBM coaches’ polls, at No. 2 and No. 3 respectively, making the regular-season finale a key piece to the four-team playoff puzzle.

It also mirrors last season, when Ohio State and Michigan both entered the game with 11-0 records and the No. 2 and No. 3 teams in the CFP rankings.

Elsewhere, Washington (11-0) jumped Florida State for the No. 4 spot following an impressive win at Oregon State. The Seminoles (11-0) fell to 5 ahead of its annual showdown with rival Florida.

The balance of the top 10 also stayed the same, with Oregon (6), Texas (7), Alabama (8), Missouri (9) and Louisville (10) rounding out the order.

Penn State, the only ranked team Michigan has a win over this season, stuck at 11. Iowa, the only other Big Ten team in the CFP rankings, fell one spot to No. 17.
