COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Two Colorado Republicans newly elected to the U.S. House of Representatives are speaking out about what being in the majority could mean for their legislative priorities and their Southern Colorado constituents.

On Tuesday, CBS News projected Republicans would maintain control of the House of Representatives, giving them control of Congress and the presidency.

In a statement, CD-5 representative-elect Jeff Crank told 11 News he is thrilled that Republicans will control all three branches of the federal government.

"The American people understood that our country was headed in the wrong direction and that responsible leadership is needed in Washington, DC to turn it around," he said. "It will be Republican priorities being produced in Congress and President Trump will have the power to roll back the burdensome rules and regulations that came out of the Biden administration."

A spokesperson for Jeff Hurd, the CD-3 representative-elect, sent 11 News a similar sentiment.

"With Republican control of the House, Senate and Presidency- the party is prepared to deliver on our Republican agenda," he said.

You can find more in-depth interviews with both Crank and Hurd .

Both Crank and Hurd will be sworn in January 3, 2025.
