Colorado Springs weather: Temps anticipated to gradually warm Friday, throughout weekend ahead
A cold beginning Friday in Colorado Springs is forecast to gradually warm throughout the day.
"Cold air has settled into the state, and this morning, you'll feel that frigid air as you head out the door," Meteorologist Alan Rose with Gazette news partner KOAA said. "Dress accordingly, but think layers as highs this afternoon will warm into the lower 50s in the Pikes Peak Region."
Expect sunny skies and a high of 54 degrees on Friday. Winds from the northwest are forecast to range from 5 to 10 mph, becoming southeast as the day progresses, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo.
Looking ahead to Friday night, expect mostly clear conditions and a low of 26 degrees.
Temps will consistently warm heading into the weekend and throughout next week, according to Rose.
"Temperatures will warm a few degrees each day this weekend under the influence of a building ridge of high pressure. Winds will be light each day, and there will be plenty of sunshine from the mountains to the Plains," Rose said.
