Commanders receiver Noah Brown’s Hail Mary-catching gloves pass on to Hall of Fame
The gloves that Washington Commanders receiver Noah Brown used to catch a Hail Mary touchdown to beat the Chicago Bears are now in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
On the final play of Oct. 27's game in D.C., rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels scrambled for 13 seconds, then heaved the ball 64 yards.
The ball was batted up by Bears cornerback Tyrique Stevenson, who had started the play with his back turned to the line of scrimmage jawing with fans in the stands, and fell into the hands of Brown to win the game for Washington, 18-15.
Brown's gloves as well as an end zone pylon, signed by Brown and Daniels , have been added to the Hall of Fame's Pro Football Today Gallery, the hall announced in a release Thursday.
The Hail Mary also entered the record books.
Daniels became the second rookie quarterback since 1970 to record a game-winning touchdown that traveled 50 or more yards as time expired, joining a 1999 pass by Tim Couch in the first season of the expansion Cleveland Browns.
Daniels also was just the seventh quarterback to record such a pass in NFL history and the first to do so since 2018.
The gloves and pylon joined another piece of memorabilia from Daniels' rookie campaign in the display case — the ball Daniels threw to receiver Terry McLaurin to seal the Commanders' 38-33 road win against the Cincinnati Bengals on "Monday Night Football" in Week 3.
