Technology training classes: taught by Senior Lift will be taught at Neumann University on Wednesdays, Oct. 2, 9, and 16. Senior Lift has taught technology skills to senior adults for over 16 years. These classes are also available to people who are unemployed and underemployed. Courses include Smartphone Basics I & II and Introduction to Basic Technology Terms and Symbols. The fee for each class is $40. Classes are scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. in room 314 of the Abessinio Building on Neumann's campus. No Act 48 or continuing education credit will be offered if a professional chooses to attend this workshop. The workshop is free, but registration is necessary to receive the Zoom link. Parents should register for this session by 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7 at The Zoom link will be emailed to all registrants the day before the training.

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute: at Widener University is an academic cooperative for adults ages 50 and older. Attendees can look forward to a stimulating educational experience that fosters intellectual growth and inspires lifelong learning.

• "Hauntings In Delaware County and Other Pennsylvania Locations" will be led by instructor Loretta Wehbe, 1-2 p.m. Tuesdays Oct. 15, 22, 29, Nov 5, 12 in Media. Cost is $40.

"Power Over Pain: Chronic Pain Self-Management Program": will be offered by the Delaware County Office of Services for the Aging (COSA) virtually through the Zoom platform, 9:30 a.m. to noon Mondays through Oct. 21. The program is free to Pennsylvania residents age 60 and older who live with chronic pain. "Power Over Pain," developed at Stanford University, provides participants with the self-care tools and life skills that support them in reaching their personal goals to manage their chronic pain. Topics include dealing with frustration, fatigue, isolation, and poor sleep; learning exercises to improve strength, flexibility, and endurance; using medications effectively; communication; nutrition; and evaluation of new treatments. Trinity Thrift Shop: 301 N. Chester Road, Swarthmore — entrance on College Avenue — will hold its sale days on Oct. 4 and 18, Nov 8 and 22, and Dec 6 and 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. All proceeds benefit local community organizations. The thrift shop offers clothing, kids' items, household goods, linens, and books/CDs/DVDs. Annual pig roast fundraiser: of the Norwood Historical Society will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13 at Morton Morton House, 517 E. Winona Ave., Norwood. Associazione Regionale Abruzzese Delco and Delaware Valley: will hold their 16th annual fundraiser dinner to benefit The Communities of Don Guanella and Divine Providence. The banquet is Sunday Sept. 29 from 2 to 6 p.m. at The Phoenix Ballroom, 1661 Mill Road, Upper Chichester. Cost is $45 for adults and $15 for children ages 7 to 12, and free for children under 7 and all residents of Don Guanella and Divine Providence. Senior Community Services' Friendship Circle Senior Center: is sponsoring two day trips that are open to the public.

• The Center will travel to Sight and Sound Theater to see "Daniel," Wednesday, Oct. 30. The bus will depart Friendship Circle, 1515 Lansdowne Ave., Darby, at 8:15 a.m. and arrive at 10:15 a.m. for the 11 a.m. show at the Millennium Theatre in Lancaster. A luncheon smorgasbord at Shady Maple will follow at 2:30 p.m. Cost is $167.

• On Monday, Dec. 9, the bus will depart Friendship Circle at 9 a.m. for a trip to Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City. Cost is $82, which includes the show "A Very Merry Christmas," as well as $25 in slot play, a $15 food voucher, and admission to the 3 p.m. show. The club is running a bus to Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City on Thursday, Dec. 5 to see the "Rat Pack Christmas Show." Bus leaves at 10 a.m. Cost is $75, with $25 back in slot play.

• Tomasello Winery and casino package on Wednesday, Feb. 26: Cost is $82, which includes lunch and a wine tasting at Tomasello in Hammonton, NJ and then a visit to an Atlantic City casino, that will include a coin package.

• The Turkey Hill Experience on Wednesday, March 26: Cost is $98, which includes a self-guided tour of Turkey Hill to discover how the ice cream is made and more, a box lunch and a tour of Columbia, PA with a step-on guide.

• Three trips are planned to Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, each costing $85, with $25 back in slot play and a show. The bus will leave at 10 a.m. each trip. On Thursday, July 31, the show will be "Cher: The Ultimate Tribute. On Thursday, Aug. 28, the show will be "The Doo Wop Project," and on Thursday, Sept. 25, the show is "An Afternoon of The Bee Gees."

The Italian Cultural Center: Of The Delaware Valley inside the historic Lazaretto Building on the waterfront in Tinicum Township, is now open. Volunteers are needed to help out during summer visiting hours, which are 2 to 4 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first and third Saturdays. Nar-Anon Family Group: Courage to Live meets every Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Brookhaven Municipal Center, 2 Cambridge Road, Brookhaven. All those affected by a loved one's addiction are welcome. The meeting is wheelchair accessible.

The Delaware County Victim Assistance Center: in Media has been providing services to victims of sexual assault and to their significant others since 1974. The nonprofit agency depends on volunteers to meet the needs of clients 24 hours a day. Services include hospital/police interview accompaniment, and telephone crisis intervention. Volunteers receive a 40-hour training to prepare them for their responsibilities and are asked to provide support at least twice a month for an evening or weekend shift. The center offers free: and confidential counseling in person and through a 24-hour hotline to victims of sexual assault. It provides medical, police and court accompaniment. The center also facilitates support groups for adult survivors of sexual abuse, adult rape survivors, and teen survivors of sexual assault.
