Cone Health plans new medical complex in Eden

D.Davis3 hr ago

EDEN — Cone Health will spend $3.5 million to bring additional medical services and consolidate others in Eden. The renovations will take place at 723 S. Van Buren Road in the Dayspring Family Medicine building where Lidl once planned a grocery store.

Cone Health plans a variety of medical services including a community pharmacy and Sagewell Health & Fitness, and renovations to the 12,000-square-foot space will bring a focus on prevention, wellness and convenience. These are hallmarks of Cone Health's continued move into value-based care and health equity.

"Finding convenient, high-quality health care in rural areas is challenging, not only in North Carolina, but across the nation," points out Deno Adkins, senior vice president for ambulatory and consumer services at Cone Health. "We want to make working with your provider to remain as healthy as possible as easy as going to the supermarket. And in this case, it really will be."

Sagewell Health & Fitness will occupy the front of the building. While Sagewell looks a lot like a gym, it adds a medical fitness component. Providers can refer patients to the facility where they will work with specialists to develop exercise routines appropriate for their fitness level and medical needs. Classes and various wellness programs are held throughout the year. Of course, the public can take advantage of the gym, personal training opportunities and wellness programs.

A Cone Health Community Pharmacy will be conveniently located next to Dayspring Family Medicine, one of the largest primary care offices in the county. The pharmacy will offer competitive prices on prescription and non-prescription medications and curbside pickup. As for convenience, people seeing their doctor can pick up a prescription as they head out the door.

Other services scheduled for the facility include:

• Rehabilitation

• Urology

• Gastroenterology

• Orthopedics

• Imaging

• General surgery (pre- and post-surgical visits.)

Sagewell Health & Fitness memberships go on sale in October. There will be a rolling opening of medical practices, starting with Sagewell opening in early 2025.
