Connecticut’s Jewish community commemorates a year of war in Israel
CONNECTICUT (WTNH) — Israel and Hamas have been in open conflict for an entire year and the Jewish community in Connecticut is coming together to commemorate.
On October 7th there will be ceremonies across the state to remember and reflect on a year of war. A list of events can be found below:
October 7th: Marking One Year with the Greater Hartford Community
At 5:00 p.m., the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford will hold a family program followed by a ceremony to honor first responders and IDF soldiers at Beth El Temple on 2626 Albany Avenue, West Hartford.
An Evening of Remembrance and Hope
At 7:00 p.m., the Jewish Community Center in Greenwich will host a special service at at Temple Shalom on 300 E. Putnam Ave.
One Year Later: An Evening of Remembrance & Solidarity with Israel
At 7:00 p.m., the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven will host speakers from Israel and communal leaders at the Vine Family auditorium on 360 Amity Rd in Woodbridge.
October 7th Commemoration: Marking One Year
At 7: 00 p.m., the Stamford Board of Rabbis and the Jewish Federation of Greater Fairfield County will honor the lives lost and hostages still in peril at the Stamford Jewish Community Center on 1035 Newfield Ave.
