Consumers report glass oven doors shattering out of the blue. Company hasn’t issued a recall

Over 120 customers in dozens of states have reported that the glass on their ovens has shattered out of the blue.

Channel 2 Action News is hearing from a Snellville man who says it happened to him, too.

Channel 2′s sister station WSOC-TV in Charlotte first started investigating the issue with Frigidaire ovens back in 2022. About half of the complaints the station received said their appliances weren't on or even warm when the glass broke.

In the past, Frigidaire has acknowledged that the issue can happen and "sometimes the imperfections are not visible." It says it "takes the safety of its products seriously" and that it complies with industry standards.

But so far, the company hasn't issued a recall.

An eagled-eyed husband and wife were sailing in Hawaii when they spotted mysterious objects in the distance. Camila and Ryan Sullivan found five scuba divers drifting at sea. They told their rescuers that they were on a diving excursion. When they surfaced, they realized that they drifted away and their dive boat was nowhere to be found. The couple tried to pull them to safety but the sea was too rough. They radioed the U.S. Coast Guard. Twenty minutes later, help finally arrived.

A judge recused himself Tuesday from presiding over Arizona's fake electors case after an email surfaced in which he told fellow judges to speak out against attacks on Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign for the presidency. In the Aug. 29 email, Maricopa County Judge Bruce Cohen lamented that he didn't speak out when Harris was called a "DEI hire," believes that white men must speak out against unfair treatment of women, and raised a historical lesson from the Holocaust about the need to speak up when people are attacked. Cohen didn't specify who made the comment regarding Harris.
