Cornelia May

Cornelia A. (Connie) May, 90, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Mercy Center, Dallas.
She was born August 28, 1917, in Scranton, a daughter of the late Dennis P. and Elizabeth Hogan May. She attended the Scranton schools, including Marywood Seminary, and received a bachelor of arts degree in English from Marywood College in 1938.
For several years she was a member of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and taught high school English. Cornelia resided in New Jersey and, following her retirement in 1982, she returned to the Wyoming Valley. She resided in Dallas for the past nine years and was a resident of Mercy Center since 2005.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 11 siblings, Dennis, Ida, Alice, Geneive, Mary, Francis (Rev. Arthur C.P.), Elizabeth, Helen, Richard, Joseph and Ceil, and her dear friend, Sr. Miriam Ruth Brennan, RSM.
Surviving are her nieces, nephews and her extended family at Mercy Center, Dallas.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated today at 10:30 a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of Mercy Center. Private interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
