Michael A. Freiman, M.D., otolaryngologist, recently joined the medical group and is accepting new patients at his temporary office in the Thomas P. Saxton Medical Pavilion, Suite 9, 468 Northampton St., Edwardsville. Dr. Freiman graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree from The University of Scranton and earned his medical degree from The Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, Hershey. He completed a general surgery internship and a residency in otolaryngology/head and neck surgery at The University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, Madison, Wisconsin.
Lackawanna College
Jeff Gregory has been named director of admissions. He previously served as the Lake Region Center director and has worked for Lackawanna for nearly two years. Michelle Williams, Dunmore, was appointed director of the Lackawanna College Fund. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a master’s degree in organizational management from Misericordia University.
Commonwealth Health
Theresa Baseski, D.O., OB/GYN, is being welcomed to her new medical practice at Physicians Health Alliance. Dr. Baseski is accepting new patients at her office at 545 N. River St., Suite 200, Wilkes-Barre. She is a member of the medical staff of Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Metz Culinary Management
Dennis Daley has been promoted to vice president of higher education and independent schools. In this role, he will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s higher education and independent school business partners. Daley served as district manager at Metz Culinary Management since 2003. Daley has more than 30 years of experience in the food service and hospitality industry, specifically in contract management services. He has served in leadership and senior management positions for the majority of his career and has attended numerous training seminars and continuing education programs. He resides in Macungie.
Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection
DEP Secretary E. Christopher Abruzzo recently reappointed John R. Ackerman, to the Certification Program Advisory Committee for Water and Wastewater Operators for his fourth four-year term (2014-2018). Ackerman was first appointed to the committee in 2002 and has served as elected chairman of the committee since that time. Ackerman is the principal engineer and geologist for Twin Oaks Consulting, LLC, Hazle Township.
CPAC was formed as the advisory committee to aid DEP in the development of the program manual detailing the regulations covering the responsibilities for operators in both the water and wastewater treatment programs.
