Cosmâs Shared Reality Live Sports and Entertainment Concept Coming to Detroit
Bedrock in Detroit has announced Cosm, a leading immersive technology, media, and entertainment company, will bring its Shared Reality live sports and entertainment concept to downtown Detroitâ€TMs Development at Cadillac Square.
Located east of Campus Martius Park, Cosm will offer fans a front row seat to live sports and entertainment events taking place across the globe. The experience bridges the virtual and physical worlds by merging state-of-the-art visuals with the energy of the crowd, along with hospitality and food and beverage service.
Cosm Detroit will complement Bedrockâ€TMs plans on the site for a multi-level market hall that will feature a selection of sit-down and fast-casual dining options, further enhancing the lifestyle amenity offerings in the downtown core.
"Cosm is the future of sports and entertainment, putting people in the front row of the worldâ€TMs biggest events. This was a transformative technology and experience that we knew we had to bring to Detroit, and we canâ€TMt wait for everyone to experience it firsthand," says Dan Gilbert, founder and chairman of Bedrock.
"As just the fourth location in the world, Cosm Detroit will be the anchor of our Development at Cadillac Square, and a magnet to bring people to downtown to experience the energy and vibrance in our city."
Since opening its first two locations in Los Angeles and Dallas, and revealing plans for a third venue in Atlanta, Cosm has developed a new way for fans to uniquely experience live sports, immersive art, and experiential entertainment.
"I canâ€TMt think of a better place for our fourth venue," says Jeb Terry, president and CEO of Cosm. "Detroit embodies the right mix of sports fandom, enterprising spirit, and energy, and we are honored to be part of the downtown revitalization that Dan Gilbert and his team are driving."
Detroit architecture firm Rossetti will design Cosm Detroit. The venue will include:
"A pioneer in the immersive sports, art, and entertainment industry, Cosm has the ability to draw thousands of enthusiasts to downtown on a regular basis," says Kofi Bonner, CEO of Bedrock. "With innovation and experience at the forefront, the addition of Cosm Detroit amplifies the collaborative efforts to revive the historic Paradise Valley entertainment district."
Details regarding Cosm Detroit, its opening, and schedule of events will be available soon. Bedrock is set to break ground on its 1.5 million square foot Development at Cadillac Square in 2025.
