Coughlin Shuts Out Pittston Area

WILKES-BARRE – Kristen Watlock scored three goals within seven minutes in
the second half Wednesday, helping Coughlin pull away to a 6-0 victory over
Pittston Area in a Wyoming Valley Conference Class 3A field hockey game.

The first of Heather Susek’s two goals gave the Crusaders a 1-0 lead at
halftime. Sarah O’Donnell made it 2-0 less than three minutes into the second
half, then Watlock rattled off a hat trick to put the game away.
Jessica Musto, Allison Popielarski and Randi Segear had assists for
Coughlin, and Stephanie Wysocki made 14 saves to get the shutout.

DelVal 6, Hazleton 1

HAZLETON – Amy Hendricks had a hat trick and Jackie Domzalski scored twice
as Delaware Valley defeated Hazleton Area in a Class 3A game.

Sarah Ramsey scored DelVal’s other goals, and Cortney Donovan, MaryBeth
Pomes, Hendricks and Domzalski added assists.

Laura Makuta scored for the Cougars off an assist from Sarah Bevans.

Tunkhannock 6, Berwick 0

BERWICK – Kristen Condeelis scored twice as Tunkhannock defeated Berwick in
a Class 3A game.

Sarah Wasserman, April Antoine, Courtney Austin and Laura DeSoo added goals
for the Tigers.

Abington 3, Wallenpaupack 0

HAWLEY – Katie Notarianni had a goal and an assist as Abington Heights
defeated Wallenpaupack in a Class 3A game.

Vita Ranella and Cheryl Mazaleski also scored goals for Abington, Maggie
Brittain had an assist and Sam Morgan made two saves to get the shutout.

Honesdale 1, Hoban 0

HONESDALE – Emily Wood scored late in the first half and Sharon Ripple made

game.

Caroline Suitch made 20 saves for the Argents.

Seminary 4, Elk Lake 0

KINGSTON – Tam Morris and Laura Suchoski scored two goals apiece as Wyoming
Seminary defeated Elk Lake in a divisional crossover game.

Suchoski also had an assist, as did Kat Sharkey and Elizabeth Blaum. Erin
McGinley and Maura McCormick split the shutout for the Blue Knights.

Crestwood 11, GAR 0

WRIGHT TWP. – Amie Survilla scored five goals and assisted on another as
Crestwood defeated GAR in a divisional crossover game.

Liz Drazdowski had a goal and two assists for the Comets, Caitlin McCurdy
had a goal and an assist, and Julie Kuhns, Jess Marsilio, Elizabeth Orloski
and Stephany Danilack added goals.

Lehman 9, O’Reilly 0

LEHMAN TWP. – Chrisse Kazmierski, Allison Boris and Ashlee Leonard scored
two goals apiece as Lake-Lehman defeated Bishop O’Reilly in a divisional
crossover game.

Traci Ragukas added a goal and two assists for the Black Knights, Julia
Covert and Amie Sgarlat scored goals, and Shannon Prescott made three saves to
get the shutout.

Meyers 9, Montrose 1

WILKES-BARRE – Marissa Lear, Thea Mae Jorbina and Lindsey Conrad scored two
goals apiece as Meyers defeated Montrose at Miner Park in a divisional
crossover game.

Jillian Carlo, Kirby Rinker and Amy Falzone also had goals for the Mohawks.
Kristen Travis scored for the Meteors.

Dallas 9, Hanover 1

DALLAS – Paige Selenski scored four goals as Dallas defeated Hanover Area
in a divisional crossover game.

Cassie Snider and Bailey VanJura scored two goals apiece for the
Mountaineers and Sam O’Brien had the other goal. Katie Rauscher scored for the
Hawkeyes.

Trail 8, Northwest 0

FACTORYVILLE – Sam Kropa and Kristen Snyder recorded hat tricks as
Lackawanna Trail defeated Northwest in a divisional crossover game.

Katie Snyder and Erika Johnson added goals for the Lions and goalie Elana
Nicholoff got the shutout.

Nanticoke 15, Wyoming Area 0

NANTICOKE – Amanda Prentiss and Jessica Jones each had a hat trick as
Nanticoke defeated Wyoming Area in a divisional crossover game.

Leigh Ann Rentko, Lauren Williams and Jenn Butzek scored two goals apiece
for the Trojans.





Crestwood right wing Elizabeth Drazdowski heads upfield as GAR defenders
Leanne Montigney, No. 17, and Megan Krebs pursue during a Wyoming Valley
Conference field hockey game Wednesday. Drazdowski had a goal and two assists
as Crestwood won 11-0.
