County Road 3 reopened after a propane truck incident led to area evacuations

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) - On Friday, Nov. 15th, an incident occurred on County Road Three in Gunnison County involving a propane truck that led to evacuations in the area. Evacuations were lifted at 5:30 p.m. Friday, but a HazMat team with the Colorado State Patrol said that the valve on the truck needed to be repaired before the truck could be moved. Officials with the Carbondale and Rural Fire Protection District (CRFPD) announced a road closure on Monday, Nov. 18th, for the repair taking place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the possibility of extending to 6:00 PM depending on the repair and recovery timeline. At 5:15 p.m. on Nov. 18th, the CRFPD announced that County Road 3 was fully reopened.
