Cowboys at Giants: Week 4 matchups to watch for the Dallas Cowboys

E.Wright27 min ago
It's officially rivalry week and the Dallas Cowboys will head to MetLife Stadium to take on the New York Giants in the first divisional game between these two this season. On paper the Cowboys are the favorites to win this matchup, but considering the way they played in back-to-back weeks, the possibility of an upset seems very realistic.

Today, we are going to take a look at a few key matchups the Dallas Cowboys may need to win in order to help sway the game in their favor. It won't be easy, but the Cowboys play the way they are actually capable of and keep from shooting themselves in the foot they should put another "W" in the win column with hopefully a decisive victory over the Giants is week.

CB Trevon Diggs/Caelen Carson vs. WR Malik Nabers Trevon Diggs and Malik Nabers have already exchanged a little bit of trash talk between one another back in the offseason. This first head-to-head matchup between the two could quickly become a storied rivalry for years to come. The Giants rookie WR is off to a historic start to his NFL career and probably had this matchup against Diggs circled on his calendar immediately after being drafted by New York. This is one of those best against best matchups that could help sway the game in either team's favor. But the Cowboys will also have to worry about Caelen Carson in coverage on Nabers, something the Giants might try to exploit.

DE Micah Parsons vs. LT Andrew Thomas Micah Parsons looked fantastic in Week 1 against the Browns , but has struggled in back-to-back weeks as a pass rusher. To date, he only has one QB sack and 14 total pressures through three games this season, but there's still hope things will pick up for him this week against the New York Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas. Thomas has allowed a total of nine pressures and one QB sack this season as the Giants blindside protector. He has struggled against Parsons in the past and could do so once again in this Week 4 matchup.

Cowboys' run defense vs. RB Devin Singletary The Cowboys run defense gave up 115 yards and three touchdowns on the ground to Alvin Kamara in Week 2 and 151 yards and two TDs on the ground in Week 3 to Derrick Henry. It's a huge area of concern for their defense and one that New York Giants RB Devin Singletary will try to exploit in this Week 4 matchup with the Cowboys. While Singletary isn't in the same stratosphere as either Kamara or Henry, he is talented enough to do some damage against Dallas' suspect run defense if they don't show some significant improvement.
