Creighton men's basketball falls to No. 15 in latest AP poll
A 21-point Thanksgiving loss to Colorado State dropped the Creighton men’s basketball to No. 15 in the Associated Press Top 25 rankings and 14 in the USA Today's Coaches Poll rankings, both released Monday.
CU (5-1) spent three weeks ranked inside the top ten before the stunning 69-48 holiday defeat in Kansas City, where the Bluejays made just 6 of their 29 3-point attempts.
“We weren’t quite ourselves, but Colorado State deserves a lot of credit for that,” coach Greg McDermott said afterward. The Rams (6-0) were No. 20 in the AP poll and No. 21 the Coaches poll.
Creighton plays at Oklahoma State (3-3) on Thursday before heading to Nebraska (7-0) Sunday for annual rivalry game with the Huskers.
Purdue became the nation’s new No. 1 in both polls after winning the Maui Classic.
