Crews fight fire at vacant North Omaha house

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Omaha Fire Department crews responded to a fire at a reportedly vacant home in North Omaha on Monday night.

A release says that OFD was dispatched to a fire at about 9:20 p.m. near North 43rd and Pratt Streets.

OFD crews say they got to the scene and saw heavy smoke.

A report says that the house was vacant, but that there was evidence of squatters.

Damage is estimated at about $30,000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to a release.
