Crime Stoppers looking for suspect who tried using stolen credit cards at Springfield store

ROCHESTER, Ill. (WCIA) — Crime Stoppers of Sangamon/Menard Counties are looking to help the Rochester Police Department find a suspect who stole credit cards and tried using them at a retailer in Springfield.

According to Crime Stoppers, several cars were broken into at Rochester Community Park on Aug. 22 and Sept. 5, where multiple purses and wallets were taken. Later in the early evening on Sept. 5, a white man wearing black sweat pants and a light gray t-shirt tried using two of the stolen credit cards at the Springfield Best Buy on Veterans Parkway.

CrimeStoppers shared the following photo of the suspect at Best Buy.

Crime Stoppers asks anyone with any information to visit their website , call them at 217-788-8427, or use the P3 app. All tips will remain anonymous and if information leads to an arrest, tipsters may receive up to $2,500 in cash for their help.
